The all-in-one software solution for batterytesting and formation

Battery manager is Digatron’s software for the control and management of battery-related tests. unlike any other software solution, it combines a comprehensive feature set with maximum compatibility, enabling you to also control various additional solution components, such as temperature chambers, water baths or data logger systems. operate your complete solution via just one interface, obtain a clear view of all test results in a standardized format and save precious time.

MULTIPLE CELL TESTER

MCT Series Cell Testers are designed for testing lithium cells or any other advanced cell technology such as NiCd or NiMH. But not only single cells, also groups of cells with cell drop out respectively bypassing cells or complete packs can be tested.

MCT Series are designed to meet customers’ specification in regard of voltage range, current range and number of circuits. Each circuit is controlled separately. 4 up to 16 circuits can be installed into one rack. Up to 10 racks can be installed into one cabinet. The bipolar power output allows discharging without zero-crossing dead zones.

A variety of options such as additional input channels, smart-battery-bus, range switching, interface to the climatic chamber etc. in combination with the no-limits BTS-600 software, completes the MCT to the most powerful test system for small cells and packs.

Due to their high-circuit density, MCT Series offer efficient cabinet design for cycling, capacity, and internal resistance testing.

REGENERATIVE MULTIPLE CELL TESTER

New MCT-RE series cell testers are designed for high current of any advanced cell technology such as Lithium, NiCd or NiMH, and lead-acid, too.

The range of test standards covers UL, IEC, ISO, ANSI, SAE, UN, IEEE, and JIS criteria.
MCT-RE series are designed to meet customers’ growing expectations for high test current, energy efficiency, power density, flexibility, expandability, serviceability, and price-performance-ratio.

Up to six 1.8kW test circuits are housed in one 4U rack unit that also includes the active front end. Circuits can be paralleled within or even across rack units.

A 7 inch touch screen allows simple circuits monitoring and control.

UNIVERSAL BATTERY TESTER- REGENERATIVE SERIES

The Universal Battery Tester (UBT) is particularly designed for cycle life and capacity testing of automotive batteries. It can also be used for testing other types of batteries. The UBT performs charging and discharging in accordance with the programmed test schedule. Parameters are constant current, constant voltage, constant resistance and constant power.

For data evaluation, the UBT runs either with Digatron Power Electronics well-known Battery Manager or BTS-600 software.  Battery Manager is usually applied for quality assurance and high volume testing, whereas BTS-600 is used for research and development requirements.

In the standard version, one cabinet contains 5 or 10 charge-/discharge circuits connected to one common DC bus bar power supply.

Numerous options are available such as paralleling circuits, single cell operation, cell/battery drop out , multi range switching, temperature inputs, inputs for reference electrodes, data-logger interface, CAN-Bus interface as well as digital inputs and outputs and a RS 232 interface to the climatic chamber.

BATTERY EMULATOR

The Battery Emulator (BE) is a programmable high voltage source and sink using high dynamic IGBT power circuits.

To emulate the characteristic behaviour of a battery, the voltage can be adjusted while running the test program. The battery type, the battery capacity, and the battery condition (age, temperature) can be emulated as well due to the adjustability of the resistance. Like real batteries with different open circuit voltages the BS can also adjust the open circuit voltage.

POWERNET TESTER

The PowerNet Tester (BNT) is designed to test batteries, ultracaps and all other types of electrochemical power sources for 14 V and 48 V power net systems.

BNT Series have been developed for Start-Stop testing as well as current recuperation during braking with starter/generator-systems (SGS/ISG) and all typical load profiles.

Current range switching ensures high reliable and accurate data in lower current ranges when running Long-Term Airport tests.

Additional high-speed input channels for voltage and temperature, the CAN interface to communicate with a Battery Management System (BMS) and the RS232 interface for a temperature test chamber (WT) complete the PowerNet Tester. Moreover, digital inputs and outputs allow controlling external equipment or modifying a test regime controlled by BTS-600 PC.

HIGH DENSITY RECTIFIERS FOR CONTAINER FORMATION

The BC/BCD-HD Series of high-density rectifiers from Digatron Power Electronics offers many advantages

including a smaller cabinet footprint and advanced internal circuitry. BC/BCD-HD modularized systems offer updated electronics with all control circuitry contained on a single PC board. The potential for connecting external devices to these rectifiers is virtually unlimited. Signals from other process equipment or temperature measuring devices can be used to control different aspects of formation.

The BC/BCD-HD Series of rectifiers are available as standard units, or can be customized according to specific requirements. Digatron Power Electronics has years of experience in developing systems that suit specific applications.

HIGH RATE DISCHARGE TESTER

The High Rate Discharge Tester (HEW) has been designed to perform high rate discharge on automotive batteries such as cold cranking tests in accordance with the programmed test schedule. Parameters are constant current, constant voltage, constant resistance and constant power.

For data evaluation, two powerful packages of Digatron Power Electronics well known battery testing software are available: – Battery Manager for quality assurance and high volume testing and- BTS-600 for research and development requirements. BTS-600 allows to combine the HEW tester with Digatron Power Electronics Life Cycle Tester UBT and a Temperature Chamber to establish an automated IEC teststand.

Numerous options are available such as paralleling multiple cabinets, single cell operation, cell/battery drop out, multi range switching, temperature inputs, data-logger interface, CAN-Bus interface as well as digital inputs and outputs and a RS 232 interface to the climatic chamber.

Test station for quality assessment of starter batteries after formation

Stress tests are performed immediately after formation using Digatron’s production line tester. Thanks to an automated set value test, only flawless car and truck batteries leave the assembly line, and with a throughput of up to eight batteries per minute, the device is highly efficient. A must-have if you want your batteries to be of the highest quality.
